Today as I was embarking yet another beautiful day, I came across a verse in the book of Luke chapter 15: 4-7. Jesus was full of parables and you may experience them all as you read your bible. This particular parable caught my attention because it hit home in many aspects of my life and the experiences that I am going through in this time. It was nice to see a re-affirmation that God cares for you even if you “wander,” off in search of what you thought was the correct path. This lead me to look at these verses in context and as a parent, friend, husband, son or whatever relationship you have in your life, to remind those around you not only the love of God but to show the love of God by caring for them even when they might be doing wrong.
You see God doesn’t care about your mistakes or sins, he doesn’t need you to be “perfect,” so he can accept you. Just like this verse explains: ” There will be more rejoicing in heaven over the ONE sinner who repents than over 99 righteous persons who do not need to repent.”
“His love doesn’t consider himself first, it isn’t selfish or self serving, he doesn’t wonder what he’ll gain or lose by putting himself on the line he puts himself out there on the chance that you and I might look back at him and give him that love in return.. his love leaves the 99 and find the ONE every time.” – Bryan Zamora Facebook Post
To many that sounds foolish right? But what if finding that one lost sheep is and will always be important.. there’s no plan B with the love of God, he gives his heart so completely and even after we may break it over and over he still lays it out again and again.
God doesn’t care about your mistakes he says “I don’t care what it costs me, I lay my life on the line as long as I get their hearts…”
